Redbull VIP Trackday

Hey Guys,

 Cromey, Damion, Terry and I spent the entire long Easter weekend finishing off the RX8 for its debut on Wednesday 15th @ Red Bull Sideways Pukekohe. PPRE have been giving the RX8 a major birthday down at their facilities in Wanganui

The new pro spec drift machine now powered by a 20b Monster Port with a whopping HKS T51R turbo and a whole catalog of Turbosmart products is already pumping 100ft pounds more torque than the 4rotor on only 8pound boost!

Autolign have custom made a set of Tein Superdrift suspension with EDFC so I can adjust my dampening in the cockpit mid battle and we have also custom fabricated a FD steering rack and made custom tie-rods for extra steering lock.

So for the first time out in the car since the last attempt with the factory set up the RX8 felt really good.

By my 2nd lap I sent it sideways into Ford Mountain and drifted the large sweeper over the hill in top gear.

It was amazing how different our 2 cars feel to drive as I need to adjust my driving style to suit the torque and power of the turbo set-up in the RX8.

The RX8 is receiving some major body work improvements at LOKEY where they are custom making a BN-Sports style wide body kit so the car will be able to sport some huge deep dish rims fitted with 265/35/18 Goodyears and have a stance similar to our MADBUL RX7. The wide body and big wheels will not only make the RX8 look aggressive but we will then be able to dial some traction into it to ensure it’s a competitive package.

Thanks to all the people that were invited as VIP’s and made it along on Wednesday for their ride in either of my mad Mazda’s it was a blast to be able to take you along for a ride to experience our sport of drifting that is growing very rapidly.
